Patrick K. Magyar gives a positive summary of Zürich 2014
Patrick K. Magyar, CEO of Zürich 2014, gives a positive summary of the six-day championships. “We had a number of goals, and we achieved them all.”
A champion’s farewell race
The men’s marathon is no doubt one of the Zürich 2014 highlights. No matter how things will turn out on Sunday morning, there will be a lot of running action - and many emotions. Defending champion Viktor Röthlin, who is almost 40 years old, will run the final marathon of his long career.
Mascot and media star - Cooly vs. Colin
Cooly is one of the stars of the 22nd European Athletics Championships. 15 to 20 media requests asking for interviews with the iconic mascot pour in every day.
Maja Neuenschwander ninth at marathon
Maja Neuenschwander placed ninth in the Zürich 2014 marathon yesterday morning - the best place a Swiss athlete has ever achieved at European Athletics Championships. The host country’s team placed fifth in the team competition.
Schippers is Double Champion
After taking gold in the 100m, Dafne Schippers (NED) won her second title in the 200m, running a new world leading time of 22.03.
